Wombat Room (Toddlers)
Moresby Avenue Childcare and Early Learning Centre (MACC)’s Wombat room is for children aged 2 to 3 years. Three qualified early childhood educators care for a group of 12 children.
We recognise that play is considered the key way for children to learn in early childhood. This is why our toddler program and their environment are carefully arranged so that the children have access to a range of resources to challenge and develop new skills or to practise recently acquired knowledge.
Educators in the Wombat room focus on enhancing the children’s independence skills and their confidence in their own abilities. The program caters for the interests, needs and abilities of the group as a whole as well as those of the individual child.
A copy of the Wombat education program is displayed in the room for parents to view. The program provides for a wide range of individual and group experiences, which foster all areas of children’s development. MACC’s program design is flexible and regularly modified to include or extend on the children’s current interests, parent/community input and the children’s strengths and needs. It is also designed to offer the children a balance of active and quiet play, indoor and outdoor play, structured and unstructured play, group/individual and open-ended play experiences.
